Junior Data Scientist/Analyst 

Fusebox Games is rapidly becoming a market leader in the Interactive Narrative mobile gaming space. We make 2D games with pride and passion, taking popular licenses and turning them into high quality narrative experiences. Our latest release, Love Island: The Game, consistently hits the top spot in both UK and US charts, and the company is now exploring other titles, including an original title. The company has just passed its third birthday, with a team size of around 30+, and is heading full steam ahead to grow the business.

We are developing our data analytics team, and looking to recruit a Junior Data Scientist/Analyst. Being a mobile game organisation, we have a vast dataset of player data that can be used to inform many elements of the business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct data analysis to support many company departments, including: game design, marketing and finance. The ideal candidate would have a hands-on approach to dive in and develop the skills to support these elements, which will have a large impact within the growing team.

This role is particularly suited for a STEM subject graduate and/or software developer who is interested in developing a career as a Data Scientist/Analyst (depending on the candidates preference).

Responsibilities

  • Support data-driven decision-making for future games

  • Discover trends in player behaviour 

  • Provide insights that shape the roadmap of the game

  • Conduct experiments that inform decisions

  • Support Business Intelligence using data from diverse sources

  • Present visual high-impact insights to the team and beyond

  • Help grow new techniques and capabilities in the analytics department

Requirements

  • Confident in manipulating, transforming, and analysing complex data at a large scale

  • Experience with conducting experiments with data, such as A/B tests

  • Experience writing SQL and/or Python (or equivalent)

  • Formal training in performing statistical analysis

  • Familiar with visual tools such as tableau or Jupyter Notebooks to aid data exploration

  • Strong attention to detail, natural curiosity with ability to problem-solve creatively

  • Good communication skills, comfortable explaining complex ideas

Bonus

  • Interest to work in games and business strategy

  • Familiarity with unix systems and version control with git

  • Using Big Data systems: AWS services, pythonanywhere, etc.

  • Interest to develop new software tools to advance Fusebox analytics
