We are now looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join our expanding team who will assist in the accounting and analysis of Company activities. As the Financial Controller you will play a central role in ensuring all reporting is accurate, employees and suppliers are paid on a timely basis and processes are improved and implemented as required. In doing so, you will drive the month end reporting process. You will manage a Finance Assistant in order to achieve these goals.

Position relationships

The Financial Controller will take action under the direct supervision of the CEO and will work collaboratively with members of Fusebox Games’ Management Team.

Key responsibilities

  • The keeping of all financial records, accounts and schedules to the requirements of the auditors and general accepted accounting standards and practices

  • Managing the purchase ledger including payments and reconciliations

  • Recording and analysis of all income streams allowing accurate and timely invoicing

  • Preparation of monthly IP royalty figures for extremal parties

  • Month end processes including: Maintaining accruals and prepayments, bank

    reconciliations, Inter-company bookings & reconciliations

  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing the monthly management information and

    providing suitable commentary for reporting to Senior Management

  • Preparation of cashflow forecast to assist management with business decisions

  • Budget preparation with operational team members

  • KPI and data analysis on key game metrics and Dashboarding

  • V A T Returns - dealing with V A T returns, ensuring V A T rates are applied correctly when

    sales and purchase tax are calculated and reconciling VAT return

  • Submitting payroll data to our payroll agency across and ensuring relevant payments are

    made

  • Processing of taxes, pension contribution and posting payroll journals

  • Learn and utilise our systems to provide support, cover and training to other members of the

    team

  • Assist with the maintenance and revision of finance/accounting policies, systems and

    internal controls

  • Assist with the annual VGTR tax claim (Video Games Tax Relief)

  • Work independently, balancing short-term demands with longer-term projects

  • Prepare information for the auditors and tax advisors

Skills and requirements

  • Ability to present financial information in a clear and structured way

  • Knowledge of and experience with operational & accounting systems

  • Advanced level Excel user

  • Good working knowledge of other Microsoft packages (i.e. Word, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of Quick Books accounting software an advantage

  • Drive and commitment to achieving targets and deadlines

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information.

Education and Experience

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant

  • Honours Degree preferable

  • Three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of

    education and experience.
